Mandarin Bilingual Field Trip

Join us for a bilingual trip co-hosted by the Golden Gate Bird Alliance (goldengatebirdalliance.org/) and the Cedar Nature Society (www.cedarnature.org). Designed for both English and Mandarin speakers (with Cantonese support from select guides), this outing aims to share the joy of birding across our vibrant multicultural community!

Together, we will explore fall migration at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, one of the Bay Area’s most ecologically diverse wetland and grassland reserves. We’ll look for migrating ducks and shorebirds such as Northern Pintails, Cinnamon Teals, and Greater Yellowlegs while keeping our eyes up for raptors such as Northern Harriers, and White-tailed Kites. We’ll also comb the grassland for wintering sparrows, Western Meadowlarks, and Say’s Phoebes. If we’re lucky, we may even get a glimpse of Fernando, the local Chilean Flamingo! 

We will be walking on paved or gravel trails on this trip with some hills. There is little to no shade so remember to bring sunscreen or a hat. Bathrooms are available at the parking lot and visitor center
